Rebecca Lubetkin joined the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1970, and became a member of the Morris County NOW Chapter in 1990.

When Flo Kennedy, feminist attorney and civil rights advocate, was the keynote speaker at the Women’s Festival at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship on June 26, 1993, Morris County NOW was there.  When she stated that “The Media is the Message,” we got the message and began to investigate producing our own Public Access Cable TV program.  In the Spring of 1994 we had secured a place on Sammons Cable TV, and our first training class was on April 29, 1994.  Rebecca was inspired to join the original crew and was a key member, taking on several tasks including camera operator and floor manager.  Sometime around 1998 our show became “New Directions for Women.”  When our host, Mavra Stark, moved out of state in 2007, Rebecca moved flawlessly into that role where she remained until we produced our last studio show at County College of Morris on November 29, 2017.  During her tenure as host, we produced over 115 shows.  We were privileged to have her intelligence and feminist insight as host over those last ten years, and we can only say Thank You, Rebecca.
