working familiesNJ-NOW and Working Families have worked together at events such as rallies in Bedminster.  They would appreciate NJ NOW’s support in protecting earned sick leave in Morristown. The Morristown council is trying to change an earned sick leave ordinance and exclude per diem workers from accruing earned sick time, setting a precedent for any statewide legislation to exclude workers as well. Carve outs such as this always disproportionately hurt people of color and women.  The council is set to vote on this change at the next council meeting at:

Morristown Municipal Hall, 200 South St., Morristown, NJ

Tuesday, Nov. 21st, 7:30 PM (tomorrow night),

We are organizing people to attend the meeting and convince the council to not change the current ordinance and protect earned sick days in Morristown?

View the outline of the changes and the problems they will create here.

James Hopkins from Working Families is available to talk and can be reached at 1-862-324-2204.
