The NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking, of which Morris County NOW, NOW-NJ and Northern NJ NOW are members,  is organizing Stand Against Human Trafficking on the Morristown Green, Sunday October 27, 9:30 am – 6:30 pm, to raise awareness about modern-day slavery.  The NJ Coalition is inviting all faith-based organizations, community organizations, municipal representatives, colleges, high schools, government officials, local businesses, and others to participate.  I have attached a flyer for this event to this email message.  Please call me, Susan J. Waldman, NOW Representative to the Coalition, 973 895 2218 if you have any questions.

  • Human Trafficking is a rapidly growing criminal industry second only to drug dealing and equal in scope to arms dealing.
  • Human Trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, and/or coercion for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor.
  • NJ is a prime location for Human Trafficking because it is a major national and international transportation and shipping corridor.

During the day we are asking participants to stand together on the Morristown Green.  We will also have speakers, information tables, and posters to educate community members and each other and provide action ideas to end this inhuman practice.
