A Forum on Reproductive Rights
It’s time to stand up for reproductive justice!

The Northern New Jersey Chapter of NOW is co-sponsoring an event called “Roe at 40: Looking Ahead.”  This forum is hosted by The New Jersey Abortion Access Fund to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

“Roe at 40:  Looking Ahead”  will take place on Sunday,  January 27, 2013 at Trayes Hall A on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The Roe v. Wade decision is the bedrock of reproductive rights. Yet the fight to ensure reproductive justice for all women is far from over.  In the last few years it has become apparent that access to abortion and to other reproductive health rights is under attack.  We will examine the state of reproductive rights from a national, state, and local perspective.

The event keynote speaker is Deborah Jacobs, Vice President of Advocacy and Policy, MS. Foundation for Women, and the former Executive Director of the ACLU of New Jersey.  This year’s NJAAF Reproductive Justice Award will be presented to Ann Baker, founder of the National Center for the Pro-choice Majority and long-time abortion activist.

Panelists will include Dr. Noa’a Shimoni, abortion provider & family practitioner and Michele Jaker, MJ Strategies, LLC, both leaders in the New Jersey pro-choice community.  Our moderator will be Kelly Baden, Program and Policy Director, National Institute for Reproductive Health and a NJAAF board member.

Each of you is an important part of the struggle to maintain and advance reproductive rights for all women and we thank you for all that you do.  We hope that you will join us on January 27th to honor the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
