We are lending our support to the NJ Peace Action group to insure that the Montclair Town Council passes a "Move the Money" resolution asking the U.S. Congress to move at least 25% of the military budget to programs that address community needs. The vote is currently scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th at 6:30pm, at Montclair Town Hall, 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair NJ
Read the Action Alert, announcing the gathering at the Montclair Town Hall, 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair at 6:30pm with suggestions for signs on the subject of "Moving the Money."
If you have time to gather signatures on the petition to the Montclair Town Council download the printable copy here. You can bring the filled in forms to the Montclair Town Council Meeting on December 10th. Better still, deliver them to the NJPA office on December 9th, so we can make copies of the petition.
Please feel free to send the petition and the action alert to any e-mail lists you're on -- our goal is to have as many people attend as possible to let the Montclair Town Council know that their actions on the "Move the Money" resolution (printed on the back of the Action Alert) matters to many.
If you have questions, please call Ethel Owens at 973-337-8522 or Ayumi Temlock at 203-940-4416.
